6 Interns starting on Monday. They'll be just as worried as the rest of the team about the looming Year 2038 problem. Onboard them with these quick printing captured ball fidgets. These are part of a series of futuristic worry stone type fidgets that use captive spheres to create a satisfying and calming fidget experience. While you can print 6mm spheres (models included) I highly recommend using some 6mm bearings, Steel, Brass, Ceramic all work well and add to the experience.

Unusual Captured Ball Fidget - This fidget is made of 2 slabs connected by two joints. Each joint is made of 2 connected spheres. This results in some unexpected movement. This is a truly unusual model. Most of the time, I can predict how object will feel, or act, in this case, I had the idea, but was unsure of the outcome. I honestly can't tell how I feel about this model yet as a fidget, it's more of an interesting and perplexing object than an immediately satisfying toy.

I've been obsessed with finding ‘my’ perfect fidget. I've tried lots of popular models, and had a lot of fun! In particular, I found I enjoy this captive ball type fidget - which is no wonder, as I've always enjoyed using worry stones. This model is part of a small collection of futuristic rolling ball fidgets I'm calling Y2K38 Worry Stones. This version is specifically called the Sys Admin. They are made imaging that IT folks worrying about the Unix Epoch Problem may find some comfort in them.

I wanted to make a giant bead lizard like the small keychains I made as a kid. I bought the printer specifically for this project. This is an easy to print 9cm pony bead. It's fairly angular opposed to the curves of the small injection molded, at this large size, the shape works well and holds the shape of the item you want to make when using rope. I used 57 beads, 50 feet of ½ inch rope, and a 10 inch steel wreath wire thing.
