I'm a product designer creating 3D-printable eyewear, and this is our first free base model for everyone to download, print, and try. It uses standard optical lenses to create functional glasses. Hey everyone! it's the start of a 3D-printed eyewear platform so anyone can easily print standard glasses for themselves, or even use the platform to start their own small local business. I really wanted to keep the design as simple as possible. No screws, no hinges, and no extra hardware needed. You just print them, do a little bit of sanding, and use a tiny dab of super glue to assemble. It fits standard or prescription lenses (they just snap right in!). Colon is actually just the start! I’ve been busy designing several other shapes. My goal is to launch a crowdfunding campaign for the 3D-printed eyewear platform . I’ll be sharing some sneak peeks of the other frame shapes very soon, but for now, I'd love for you to try this one out!
