This is a tolerance test for print in place hinges. These are the same style of hinges I use in my <a target="_blank" href="https://makerworld.com/en/models/417495" rel="nofollow noopener">Articulated Hexapod</a>, <a target="_blank" href="https://makerworld.com/en/models/249434#profileId-265706" rel="nofollow noopener">Pop-up Catapult</a> and <a target="_blank" href="https://makerworld.com/en/models/219958#profileId-253935" rel="nofollow noopener">Latching Box</a> print in place models.&nbsp;Depending on the model, different levels of hinge tightness may be required.&nbsp;For example, the hinge connecting a box and lid should be fairly loose. You want it to swing freely so the box is easy to close. But for a poseable figure, you want the hinges to be loose enough so that they&#39;re easy to move, but tight enough to stay in place once positioned.&nbsp;You can use this test to calibrate the spacing that works best for your printer, material, and print settings.&nbsp;Print this with the same material and settings you plan to use for the print in place model you wish to print. Spins freely straight off the plate.&nbsp;I set up two print profiles for this model: Heavy outer ring - prints using 43g of filament to make the outer ring heavier. This gives it a bit more inertia, but feels heavier in the hand.Light outer ring - prints using 29g of filament. Feels lightweight in the hand and prints faster, but doesn't have as much inertia.&nbsp;Both spin great - I'd say pick the print profile based on how you want it to feel in the hand.

You can use the material of your choice for the armor, but you should print the frame with a strong and sturdy material like ABS, ASA, or PETG. I mostly use ASA.&nbsp;PLA is not recommended for the frame. If you print the frame in PLA and complain that it broke or went floppy, I'm going to be like, “yeah dude, I told you not to.”&nbsp;All parts print without supports and you should not need to reorient anything. Bed adhesion is the toughest part of this print. For better adhesion try slowing down your first layer, printing external perimeters first, and adding a brim if needed. Use 0.15mm layers (0.2mm first layer).&nbsp;You can use the included 3MF files with pre-plated parts, or arrange the individual parts yourself. If a part starts with “2x” or “4x,” print that many copies.
