I'm a software engineer and a photographer. I wish that 3d printers had been a thing long ago when I was in art school, maybe I would have learned how to model back then. I'm really enjoying all the amazing models made by this community and I'm inspired to try to learn how to do it myself.

I am 3d printing the centerpieces for my daughter's bat mitzvah party!
My wife and I are planning a big party for our daughter's bat mitzvah later this year, and it occurred to me that we could probably design really nice centerpieces that could be 3d printed. My wife had a whole bunch of plans related to the theme (broadway shows) and collected a lot of playbill images and other related materials which add to the feel. I found a udemy class for fusion 360 and started teaching myself simple 3d design.
I designed this simple centerpiece, and have been tweaking it over the past few weeks to include table numbers, a place to attach a playbill cover, and a mount for tiny little 'stage lights' that we found, which really make the playbill in the center pop. We're going to add little props for every show, most of which we've already been able to find on makerworld and thingiverse. (The flowers in the photos are just simple artificial ones)
I've been really excited about this project, and I hope you like it! Maybe some of you might even find it useful for your own upcoming events? :)
The makerworld links are below. I'll be posting it to printables also, but I haven't gotten my act together to do that quite yet.
