I was using some monitor risers I purchased on amazon as a shoe rack. However, they weren't quite tall enough to fit shoes comfortably underneath and slide them out unimpeded. These risers act as stilts making them tall enough to comfortably fit my shoes. You could also use them to get some extra boost if you are using them as a monitor stand.
