<h3>Model</h3><h3>Overview</h3>SR-71 kit card that was created to showcase a true aviation engineering marvel and is an inspiration for kids and adults of all ages in pursuit of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). This particular model uses color and sliced 3D format to really bring a highly contoured airplane to life upon assembly. The kit format is great for gifting the model to engineering clubs, friends, family, or coworkers that enjoy building and showcasing aviation engineering history. All of my models are created by me in a CAD environment. (YouTube is a great starting place)</li><li>The basic steps:<ul><li>Create sketch for each of the major components: wing, fuselage, vertical tail, joints, etc..</li><li>Create solid bodies using those sketches (extrusions, lofts, etc…)</li><li>Add any details like blends, fillets, chamfers</li><li>Create the stand over the center-of-gravity (note the maker point on the image above!)</li><li>Fine tune tolerances in the joint (here is where a lot of 3D printing prototyping comes into play!)<ul><li>Fun Fact: This SR-71 had 6 prototypes before publishing to the community</li></ul></li><li>Add kit frame</li></ul></li></ul></li></ul>

Here is a new design for my slinkies collection.Other models available here: <a target="_blank" href="https://makerworld.com/en/@rky.91/collections/510046" rel="nofollow noopener">https://makerworld.com/en/@rky.91/collections/510046</a>&nbsp;This is a cute heart-shaped slinky that&#39;s easy to print. No support required. The model is 10cm tall and I printed mine using Bambulab Silk PLA. Feel free to try more crazy colors!&nbsp;After printing, gently separate all the coils of the toy: It shouldn&#39;t be difficult to separate the first coil. You can start the process using the tip of a small knife by prying into one of the gaps between the coils.&nbsp;Please ignore the warning about the &#39;floating cantilever&#39; that appears before slicing: the model leaves small gaps by design.&nbsp;You can scale the template in the X or Y direction to make the heart shape bigger.
