Here is my latest parametric model.
When I first started out on MakerWorld, I created a model like this, with the aim of producing something simple yet sturdy and useful, but I did so using the wrong tools.
It did allow for expansion, but only in fixed blocks.
So here is the parametric version.
The aim was the same, but I sought the right balance between maximum customisation and sturdiness.
Just 3 parameters:
Height and Depth: for the bases
Depth and Width: for the shelves
Assembly is really quick, using simple interlocking joints.
During the design process, however, I also gave some thought to the aesthetics. I could have achieved the same result by designing a single base, but I didn’t like the idea of seeing the holes at the front and top when they weren’t necessary, so there are also two bases with these holes covered.

Finally, I decided to release two profiles for the only non-parametrised dimension.
One version with a thickness of 16mm per component and one with a thickness of 14mm per component.
