New model up! I love this one!

I just got Solidworks! They have some sort of deal where it’s free for students, and I downloaded it and WOW, you can do a lot. It’s not too much of a learning curve from Onshape and you can do so much!!! It’s a basic plan so you really only get the Design and Drawing software (I think) but still! This is just a little thing I made while messing around XD

Well, an E l e g o o/Emoji collab wasn’t on my 2026 bingo card! But honestly? I’m all here for it! This thing is sick!

New (non) working prototype for the battlebot! It’s now a Plastic Ant, which means it’s still 1ib but all plastic. One of the motor terminals came off while I was soldering it, and so that motor doesn’t work anymore😅 I have a spare though! The electronics are all stuffed inside of it! The weapon works but the chassis needs to be modified to fit it. It’s getting close!

Hot Take: Crowdfunding was one of the worst things makerworld has done. The idea is cool, but I feel like the execution was bad. No hate to any of the creators that have crowdfunding projects, those models are amazing! But I feel like Makerworlds big thing was giving free models, but now They’re behind a paywall. And also they spam crowdfunding everywhere, half the community posts I see anymore are crowdfunding. And also models that would have been free with no problem are locked behind a paywall now, just so the creator can get money. I haven’t seen to much of this but I have seen some.(Edited)

Well….. I’m building a new battlebot😅 My problems with REDACTED and Mini Linney: REDACTED: First robot, multiple fatal design flaws MINI LINNEY: Focused too much on looks, low functionality. This is my newest creation I started on this afternoon! It’s my most robust and strong battlebot! It uses the helpful Beater Bar kit from Repeat Robotics and a LOT of 1/8 Inch Aluminum plating! The frame will be made from PC!

Just got my very first car! It’s a 2002 Toyota Camry! What accesories should I print for it?

I’m annoyed. I’ll admit my models aren’t the best models on Makerworld, but I put time and effort into them and what do I get in return? A max of 2 downloads! And yet my Simple Business card holder, a model that took about 10 minutes to make, has more prints and downloads than my other stuff put together! And why do my models, that were hand crafted and made with passion, get overshadowed by stupid fidgets and AI models that have hundreds of downloads!? I spend time making a model to be crushed by a AI model that was made in 5 seconds. I’m going to renovate my account soon, I’m talking new PFP, Banner, and Model pics, and if that doesn’t work I might just quit posting models for good. I’m sick of it.

Update on my battlebot! Sorry for the delay, I haven’t had much time to even look at it becaude of FRC. It now has wheel guards and waaaaay wider wheels! Also some very big news, I’ve got a person on my team now! It’s a girl from my FRC team.

@makermate_official Ok so I am a big fan of robotics, and I know quite a few other people on this site that are the same way. What if we had another category for 3D models that was dedicated to robotic/automatic/RC projects?

This guy commented on my post of “10 followers left until the big one double zero” (privated now) and he commented and said “11 bro learn to count”. I blocked him because I don’t want to start a fight. He just commented this (and deleted his comment). What do I do? He also took my PFP #Reporting Team(Edited)

Bit of a change in plan for my battlebot…. I saw a model of a linear actuator on here the other day, and that got me thinking of a 150G Fairyweight bot that used a lifter using that mechanism! So BOOM, Mini Linny was born! This little work-in-progress is a lifter that uses a Linear Actuator design instead of the usual 4-bar lifter. Will it work? I have no clue, I hope so! If not? At least I’ll have all the stuff for a nice hammer bot. (This doesn’t mean REDACTED is scrapped, it just means that this is first priority)(Edited)
