We dont typically compost at home, other than about once a week when we clear our fridge from leftovers and whatnot... The bins provided by our city are simply ugly and an eyesore. We wanted a "smaller" bin, that doesnt take too much counter space and was nice looking. So, I was glad the other night when my wife came to me asking for a new model... After my initial few ideas in the beginning of my 3d modeling career, whenever I wanted something, there was always a "good enough" model to simply print... but not this time! :D So, I got to modeling, a few prototypes, and here we are. BONUS: The prototype color, which is simple black pla basic, matches nicely in our kitchen. We were wondering what filament to use and ended up staying with the last prototype! Tell me what you think! Do you compost at home ?

Anyone else notice a significant change in their boosts received since @MakerWorld 's boosts changes? While my models are not wind tunnels, I aim to fill gaps with original and functionnal models that do require a bit of thinking and prototyping. Even when scrolling, I noticed some relatively complex models with a lower boost ratio than I'd expect. How do you personally go about choosing which models you boost ?

#Love Confessions for Valentine's Day That's also worth a share! My wife got ME flowers for this valentine's day. She heard a man on the radio say that he never received flowers and wondered how it felt . She figured I'd atleast enjoy finding or making a vase for them! Vase is "Strata" by @h3li0 that I stretched in the slicer on the Z axis to 240mm. Quite a few firsts on this one : First time receiving flowers and an opportunity to try new stuff (printing stuff that is): 0,6mm nozzle in vase mode with marble PLA. I hadn't tried any of those before!

Alright, so following the enthusiasm for my sunglasses holder and all the comments I received, I decided to start from the ground up and apply what I learned on a V2 ! So far I'm aiming for : No supports Easily resizeable Easier to maintain multiple clips/sizes/magnets following changes If anyone has suggestions, now is the time! Printing my first "serious" prototype soon! (So far I'm at 5 revisions on the v2😅)

#Love Confessions for Valentine's Day This is a mix of a love confession for the hobby and my wife 😅 So, I recently picked up 3d modeling a few weeks after buying a 3d printer. It's been incredible, I barely print anything else anymore... I got my wife a little something for this friday (it's valentine's day, if you had forgot, you're welcome!) But i OBVIOUSLY also wanted to print her something. She's a very "functionnal" kind of person so jewelery box made sense, but she didnt like the options available. Opportunity! I designed her this box and iterated with her comments : The first version I made her, had a simple heart pattern with color changes, but it felt childish a little bit (my daughters love it tough!). So I spent a good few hours trying and prototyping other ideas... I remembered seing people print "mid air". I figured that with small holes to support the print, the texture would maybe even look nice. And it did ! My wife loved it, the shiny PEI reflects with the matte filament lines inside the hearts were up to her standards. I had made little hooks to hold bracelets, but the bracelets fell, and the box would open flat on a table. She said she didn't mind, but both you and me know that's not true! Now, I looked online to see what people were doing with their commrcial versions to hold open a box like that... strings. So, I took the first box, and played around it, on a mission to find the angle that would not tilt backwards, for example if someone had alot of stuff in the top but not the bottom. In doing that, I stuck something in the hinge to hold it open... a bit too hard and it broke. It gave me two ideas! Make the hinge hold the box and well... reinforce it. So I added angles to the eyelets, in a way for the base to hold the lid and the lid to hold the base, just like if you intertwine your hands inside out. Also, it's no love at first sight story, but I made the rings insert following someone's comment on my model, and that's the kind of thing that I love about community interaction! My wife HATED our last car (a kia sedona 2017) but she did like one thig about it that our new car doesnt have! A decent glasses compartment! I tried printing a few models, but the clip are just not cutting it ! And with my newfound hobby, I simply cannot resort to buying stuff off of amazon anymore, I just love designing it when it's not already available , so here it is ! Enjoy

My wife tought my new work laptop stand was great, so of course I "lended" it to her. Now I was stuck with a laptop on a table, and guess what? That's not great for my back, I had 3 options: - Take it back and sleep on the couch - Buy another one - Print one The choice is obvious but I didnt find one to my taste!! One that lets me look straight ahead, just like the one I gave her... I Spent quite a while learning CAD, prototyping and testing my own ergonomic laptop stand. HERE IT IS :D
