This seasonal model has 113 parts, and by default prints in 6 colors that lay down on 9 separate plates. Once upon a time, a project of such scale demanded a certain amount of courage to start preparing and slicing, let alone print it. Now, with Bambu Lab's hardware and software, you can finish the print within two days and customize the colors to your liking. You can even customize the text and the logo!&nbsp;In the Assembly view mode, you can simply choose a part and press the number of the filament to color that part. This tray is designed to seamlessly mix into your mid-century home decor.The slight curve of the tray&#39;s inner surface causes layer lines to be extremely visible. Instead of trying to hide them, I decided to utilize them as part of the design. <figure class="image image-style-align-center image_resized" style="width:75%;"><img src="https://makerworld.bblmw.com/makerworld/model/DSM00000000374554/design/2024-03-16_o0h7dcecj2py.png"></figure>&nbsp;Print SettingsBecause the design in the middle of the tray is meant to blend into the layer lines of the curved sides, a 0.2mm layer height is required. Handles must be printed as oriented (on their sides). This will add strength that is needed during assembly.Print 2 handles.&nbsp;Assembly InstructionsDuring assembly, don&#39;t be afraid to use force! The handles were designed to be a tight fit so they can be functional without the risk of pulling out. You will need to press firmly to install them.Align a handle with the holes on one side of the tray. Press one side into the hole until the tabs flex and they slightly penetrate the opening. Repeat with the other side of the handle. Here is a family of stretchy ghosts that are more fun than spooky 👻 In my print profile I have arranged them as follows:&nbsp;Plate #1: Small, Middle, and Large Ghosts, (2 colors, white & black)Plate #2: Large Ghost (2 colors, white & black)Plate #3: Middle Ghost (2 colors, white & black)Plate #4: Small Ghost (2 colors, white & black)&nbsp;I placed all three ghosts on plate #1 to economize the amount of waste purged (it's more efficient to print 3 ghosts at once than one at a time). There will be more filament purging with this print as the color changes from black to white. I have tried playing around with the flushing settings but found if I didn't purge the black enough it caused my white to look more gray around the eyes:( If you would like to print one at a time, I placed them separately on plates #2, #3 and #4.&nbsp;Note: When you go to preview these slinky's in Bambu Studio you will get a warning that states: “Warning: It seems object POG Small (or Large) Slinky has floating cantilever. Please re-orient the object or enable support generation.” You can ignore this warning. The program is recognizing the space between each layer of the slinky. That ‘space’ is intentional and necessary to be able to separate the slinky when it is done printing. One piece contain built-in supports and braces, collar. An optional part without the built-in supports and braces are also supplied if you want to use your slicer supports. The built-in supports and braces are designed for a .4mm nozzle and for the size that the model is presented. Use your discretion for which parts to use if you resize the model significantly.2 - There are some pieces that may need brims or rafts, use your discretion. When setting up my prints I prefer to be conservative to ensure the least chance of a print failure, especially since the base of many parts are hidden when inserted into another part. *I used rafts on: - feather_bottom (I initially used a brim, but the fit was awkward. I reprinted the part with a raft and it fit much better)3 - Optionally, for an optimal joint between the hat_bottom and the hat_band, the top layers of the hat_bottom can be printed at a lower layer height to help smooth it out a bit.4 - When removing parts from the printer bed, it's a **VERY** good idea to place left/right parts into separate containers to help with the assembly process... Assembly tips:1 - Take your time gluing the model together and enjoy the process. Give some thought into which parts to glue together as groups and then gluing the groups together. Let the glue for each group set completely before combining groups.2 - I used 3D Gloop and E6000 to put this model together. I am not affiliated with 3D Gloop but have experimented with different glues for my models and have found that this glue is a great option for my models. Each type of glue has different pros/cons and I found that 3D Gloop was far easier to use than superglue (for me). The E6000 sticky glue that I also use allows more time to position parts and is still the best for smaller parts. 3D Gloop covers the middle ground for me and really works wonders. It leaves enough time to set, so parts can be positioned correctly and it dries fast enough to hold awkward parts without the need for taping. I used the PLA version that comes in a tube. For both glues using a smaller amount is usually better than more glue.3 - The nose must be inserted into the back of the head before attaching the hair. Do not glue the nose, it is meant to move freely.4 - Glue the pin_bolt into one leg bolt. Refer to the leg assembly diagram and take care in assembling the leg_bottom to the leg_top. Put the leg_bolt with the pin through the leg parts and then glue the other leg_bolt only into the pin so that the leg moves freely.5 - The feather_bottom is meant to stick out a bit at its tip and only touch the hat_bottom at the insertion point as well as the hat_band.6 - Refer to the assembly diagrams in the pictures section as well as the uploaded pictures for putting the model together. The model is meant to be glued.Do not hesitate to ask questions, feedback is essential to making better models.&nbsp;

Unfortunately Mattes beat me to it, and has already uploaded an <a target="_blank" href="https://makerworld.com/en/models/186429#profileId-205262" rel="nofollow noopener">Orca model</a> himself, so definitely check it out as well. I've decided to release the design anyway, as it would be a pity to scrap it completely, especially considering all the work that has been invested into it. I believe that my implementation of this idea still has something to offer, and isn't just a blind “copy” of the already existent design. It's unfortunate, that we both had the same idea at the same time, but I think there is enough space for both of us. I just wanted to clarify that, as I don't want to look like a copycat, or the Edison of 3D modelling :)&nbsp;Now briefly about the design itself: The model has 8 movable parts: The body is split into 6 segments + 2 movable fins. It prints in place, and no additional assembly is required. The base model is slightly oversized, so that all the fine details come out nicely, namely if you're printing in multicolor. If you're printing it in a single color only, and aren't bothered with loss of definition too much, feel free to downscale it to your liking. The model has been thoroughly tested, and should print fine up to 50% of the original size in single color, if you have a well calibrated, and reasonably accurate setup. Good cooling is very important, as the dorsal fin is fairly thin, and sticks out. It's advised to print at least two instances of the model to give the fin enough time to cool down and solidify, especially if your machine has trouble with cooling, or if you're printing a significantly downscaled version.<h4>Files information</h4>I've included 3 files: All of them are in the .stl format, and sorted into 2 folders. The folders are labeled Singlecolor and Multicolor, the single color folder contains 1 file, which is a plain, 1 piece version of the model, intended for single color printing. The Multicolor folder contains 2 files for multicolor printing, each file is named after the color, which was used on the example model in the image gallery. Import them all at once into your slicer as one file with multiple parts, and it should automatically align the parts, and assign an individual color to each of them.<figure class="image"><img src="https://makerworld.bblmw.com/makerworld/draft/590665/2024-02-26_cbwntm48bfb1.png"></figure><h4>Material</h4>PLA<h4>Layer height</h4>0,2 mm<h4>Infill</h4>>15%<h4>Support</h4>None. If you go too far with your scaling experiments, you might run into issues such as fused segments, or fragile links. If you have a well calibrated setup, you should be able to print the model at up to 50% of the original size without any issues, other than a definition loss.<h4>Orientation</h4>Default, laid flat on the belly<h4>Adhesion aid</h4>Not necessary, the contact area with the buildplate should be sufficient. However if your print surface suffers from poor adhesion, consider using an adhesive spray, or some other kind of adhesion booster. <h2>I am pleased to present you the wind-up motorboat</h2>I have wanted to build a boat like this for some time and make it available to others. Unfortunately, it was difficult to recommend a favourable source for the wind-up motors to others. I am therefore delighted that this small hardware kit has finally made this possible.   <a target="_blank" href="https://eu.store.bambulab.com/de/products/boat-model-components-kit-010" rel="nofollow noopener">Boat Model Components Kit 010</a><a target="_blank" href="https://eu.store.bambulab.com/de/products/boat-model-components-kit-010" rel="nofollow noopener"><img src="https://makerworld.bblmw.com/makerworld/draft/803890/2024-04-02_1e31c19f470e3.jpg"></a>  The model itself is very simple, only 4 parts and only one that should be glued out, as another mounting option would have made less sense here.
