Its an extra boost for the fumes in the flex-tube. This will make them fly out the door.

Its cold where I live. I wanted a solution for taking the fumes from the P1S into my non-heated garage and came up with this. I use a 3" (75mm) flex-tube mounted to my P1S and the other end is connected to this model and sends the fumes trough the door into my garage. The cap and the flap are there to stop cold from comming trough, when the tube is not connected. Put some foam in the cap for extra insulation. The flap is connected to the base with a thin piece of copper, that I took from a wire.
