The great thing about having a 3D printer is being able to design and print your own custom solutions to problems. Now admittedly, I took inspiration for this design from an item I saw on Amazon, but within a few hours, I was able to design and print my own version of it for a fraction of the price. It’s also a lot of fun when you have to think outside the proberbial box to make a design that fits within the constraints of what you can print but still meets the requirements you need. I knew that mechanical engineering degree would come in useful one day!

Need to tidy up some bits on the design, but I will upload this soon. It is a somewhat over engineered but very cool looking iPhone night stand/charging dock, styled like a Fender guitar amp. I realised after creating this that this is also useful to help enforce good phone habits as once the phone is in here, there are barriers to getting it out. Personally, I am terrible for going on my phone last thing before bed and first thing before waking up, so this looks cool, and helps me behave better with my phone. Would having your phone locked up for the night help you regulate your phone usage?#Sharing Makes
