Some of you may have seen my previous two wobbly models: the wobbly frog and the wobbly penguin. Now, I also wanted to make my favorite Pokémon wobble: Snorlax! He turned out to be a really good candidate for a roly-poly design. As you can imagine, there is a lot of belly space to work with, which translates perfectly into the heavy, rounded base needed for this kind of toy. The new thing this time: instead of printing dozens of prototypes and eyeballing the result, I wrote custom physics simulations in Python to optimize the balance. Center of mass, contact curvature, how it behaves when you tip it over – all checked before anything hit the plate. This saved me a lot of trial and error compared to how I designed the penguin. The result: the longest wobble out of all my models yet! If you want to print one for yourself (or for the kids), I uploaded the model here: 👉 https://makerworld.com/en/models/3084784-wobbly-snorlax-fidget-toy-no-ams?profiled=3474829 #ChildrensToys #Fidget #Toys

First off, I want to say a massive thank you for the incredible response to my Wobbly Penguin! I absolutely loved seeing all your amazing prints, and am so grateful for the constructive feedback you shared. As I mentioned before, this project started from a wave of nostalgia after finding a classic roly-poly toy my mother used to play with. By combining that vintage charm with an updated, simplified 3D-printed structure, I designed this little frog! My main goal for this new addition was to streamline the assembly process. It uses only a single connector, so you get all of the satisfying tumbling and rocking with zero hassle. I'd love for you to print this new buddy to join your penguins. I wanted to design a miniature that captures the tragic, gritty reality of eternal war. This veteran guardsman wields a massive greatsword and wears armor infused with chaotic, vibrant purple magic. By feeding on this volatile arcane energy, he tirelessly battles the horrific entities emerging from the wound in the world. I designed the vivid purple accents to visually represent this chaotic energy taking over – because with each passing day, the line between heroic defender and corrupted monster grows ever more blurred. Take a look at the final printed result and the stark contrast of the arcane magic against his dark armor below. Meet the Cute Cat Spinning Top! While my wobbly penguin was all about achieving that perfect, satisfying wobble, I wanted this toy to focus more on the spinning aspect. It’s designed to deliver a smooth, long-lasting twirl while still keeping a playful, subtle wobble as it slows down. I'd love for you to give this little cat a spin! Whether it's for your own desk or for the kids in your life, it’s a quick and fun print. This project is incredibly close to my heart. Recently, I was going through some things and actually found one of the classic roly-poly toys my mother used to play with as a kid! Holding it brought back a wave of nostalgia. There is something purely magical and inherently fun about a toy that simply refuses to fall over. Finding this long-forgotten treasure was the direct inspiration for this project. I realized these delightful toys aren't seen very often these days, so I made it my mission to bring them into the present. By combining that vintage charm with modern 3D printing technology, I designed this little penguin. It captures the simple joy of the past while utilizing modern design techniques to get that perfect, satisfying wobble. When I heard about the Pieksekisten project, I wanted to design something that brings lasting comfort to these incredibly brave kids. Hospitals can be intimidating, especially at night, so my inspiration was to create a gentle, watchful guardian. I designed this little owl to glow softly in the dark, making the nights a little less scary and reminding the kids that they aren't alone. Model Features: • No AMS Required: Easy for anyone to print and contribute! • Safe: Designed specifically for battery-operated LED tealights or LED lamp kits. I hope this glowing friend can find its way into real Pieksekisten and bring a moment of joy to a child who needs it.
