I needed a spool holder to hold a spool of plastic bags that was about the same size as a filament spool, but much heaver. I modified the original design to add support for the extra weight and also reduced the diameter of the rod to fit through the 1 inch diameter spool hub. The horizontal and vertical supports integrated into the model helped it to print without issues also.
