<p>I wanted a skull for my blue lobster crayfish to live in but all the ones for sale are too small so I found a skull model that I could modify. I've tried uploading a print file but the slicing time is too slow for the BL servers so you'll have to use your own PC. I've included a 3mf in the downloads</p>

<p><span style="font-size:20px;"><strong><u>Jack Skellington Full Head Mask</u></strong></span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>This mask has full head coverage consisting of a front and back half which uses a bit of elastic strap for the top hinge and includes two hooked side pins which slide on one side and then swivel into place to connect the front and the back together. There are large eye holes which allow plenty of ventilation to breathe, but will allow your face to be seen - I wore a black full face/head mask but you can glue buckram or mesh over the holes instead.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Supports for the face are unavoidable, but I was able to print the back with no supports. It had some stringing so if you want a perfect print please add supports.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>You may notice that the mask is hand painted in the photos, and that's because I didn't have an AMS at the time. I have now painted this for a two color print have made this AMS print available. If you want a single color print and happy to paint the black yourself, go for it!</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Please see my other uploads for the Bat Tie to go with this costume, and I will look into adding the bone skin I had to modify to make the articulated finger extensions fit properly. <p>This is a full chess set with each piece being a different character or reference to the series.  The intended character-peice combination is as shown in the photos (ex. Link and Zelda are King and Queen for the “white pieces”, Ganon is the King for the “black peices”.  Pieces have been sized to conform to standard chess piece sizes.  The set includes several additional “alternate pieces” that can be used in place of the “standard” set.  However, it should be noted that the alternate pieces were difficult to print.  Every model in the main set should print. <br><br><strong><u>Recommended Print Settings:</u></strong><br><strong>Nozzle:</strong> 0.40mm<br><strong>Layer Height:</strong> .20mm or lower<br><strong>Supports:</strong> Regular supports with Snug fit.  Tree supports also work, but have been less reliable.  Use build plate only for tree supports. <br><strong>Support Threshold Angle</strong>: I printed using 20.  There is a delicate balance between support threshold and print quality.  These models have a lot of things that need support that are also think and delicate.  Bows, arrows, fingers, etc.  If you set the threshold angle too low, the print will get messed up.  If you set it too high (35+) there will be so many supports that removing them from the many small delicate sections of models will be difficult to do without breaking the model.  <br><strong>Filament: </strong>I have only tested these models with PLA and Silk PLA.  They print significantly easier with regular PLA (I used Inland).  Silk PLA makes these things look awesome, but it is more brittle, and again, lots of small delicate parts.  <br><strong>Ironing:</strong> Several models benefit from top surface ironing.  Deku Tree for example.  Most do not need them.<br><strong>Infill %: </strong>I recommend at least 50%.  It gives the pieces a good feel and not as likely to tip over but also saves on filament.  <br><strong>Infill pattern:</strong> whatever you want, I think I used cubic for the most part. <br><strong>Walls</strong>: 3.  You can do 2 if you want, but the extra wall makes them sturdier, especially for ones with thin legs.<br><strong>Print Speed:</strong> 100% or lower.  <br><br><strong>Storage:</strong> This set is not recommended as an every day chess set.  It's for display and/or special occasions.  If you have children in your home, you should keep these packed up.  You can find “pluck and pull” foam padding online for relatively cheap.  2" is what I used.  Check the photos to see what I mean. <br><br><strong>General Printing</strong>: It may be a task, but I would suggest printing one piece at a time, especially for the larger more complicated ones.  <br><br><strong>Print Times: </strong>The larger pieces take ~2 hours to print.  The pawn row takes ~1 hour per piece.  </p>

<p>This is another solution to the AMS filament mouth abrasion and a system to smooth the transfer from the spool to the AMS. I tried the clip-on V2 button thing, but it's unstable. I noticed some did add a PTFE, and I thought that was a stroke of genius. Also, some have an excellent bracket design that gives the filament a shallower angle of attack when getting in the AMS. Well, I did design that one that gets all the good stuff and is stable. I have been using in (4) AMS for over 2 months, and I have no issue, no sign of premature abrasion. It did resolve the spool jerking and jumping.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I use a (PTFE) Teflon tube 2 bore x 4 OD x 50mm and print it in ABS and PETg. It is somewhat tight at the first insertion on the AMS but stable. It is tight with a new spool but works well. I thought the PTFE could be shutter, but it works well. Why fixing-it? It int broken… Yet.</p><p>-----------</p><p>All right, after 30 days of being out there and doing very well, I decided to bring it to another level,</p><p>Voici, the soon-to-be-famous the<strong> v4,0n.</strong></p><p>Get ready for the blah blah blah about it;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><i><strong><u>Updates</u></strong></i>: It has the best spool clearance, is taller, has a greater filament radius, has a slimmer nose, does have space for a large desiccant box, allows up to 18mm button, Slimer and more clearances for the PCB.</p><p>It's close to the V3.0 but doesn't have the -2.5-degree backward Improved spool space.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I tested it with ABS, and it works as expected, but I recommend using BBL Transparent PETg.</p><p><strong><u>Do Not use PLA</u></strong>. Or only if it's a really good quality, tough one, and you went to the post-process of heat treatment. Put 6 walls, 6 tops and bottoms layers. I think it's asking for trouble using PLA. I should try PLA-CF… That could be fun, Right?</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Enjoy, and have a happy new year.</p>
