My buddy Aaron is a pretty good machinist & the first to offer to help someone with trouble with their old machining tools, so when a friend of his contacted him to see if he could help with making a replacement crossfeed gear, he immediately tried to fabricate one out of brass (this part is unobtanium). Unfortunately, the geometry of this gear makes it a real challenge to machine, so he asked if I could model one & print it, which I did. I hope someone else can use it too 🙂

This print saved the dog's life. Today it jumped up on the chair and helped itself to my adult daughter's 5.5mm crochet hook & as far as we can tell, consumed the ergonomic grip on it. You know, the one she was using for her current project, the only one she had that size (some people can't use aluminum hooks for more than a few minutes at a time). A few hours later, it's usable again. Only download this file if you support saving the dog's life.

I'm a fairly new hand knitter (been machine knitting a little longer, but fairly knew to both) & I use these on my great-grandmother's needles! This is the first full version so far (I think I may have uploaded a partial in the past); if you have an A1 Mini & use PLA, they should just work (TM). Plan is to make a follow-up set of larger sizes (I'll probably do them thicker than 3mm) & another that is all previous sizes with the size numbers printed on them (stay tuned!).
