#2024 Annual Summary My Journey into 3D Printing and Design: A Year of Growth and CreationAs I reflect on my 3D printing journey, it’s hard to believe that only two months ago, I unboxed my very first printer, a Bambu Lab A1. What began as a simple curiosity quickly transformed into a passion for creativity, problem-solving, and growth. The excitement started with my first print, a basic keychain I downloaded from Makerworld. Seeing it come to life layer by layer felt like magic. It wasn’t perfect, but it sparked something in me. I wanted to do more than just print other people’s designs, I wanted to create something of my own. That’s when I decided to dive into 3D modeling. I started with beginner-friendly tools like Tinkercad and gradually worked my way to Fusion360. The learning curve was steep, but the sense of accomplishment after each small victory kept me going. Tutorials, forums, and plenty of trial and error became part of my daily routine. My favorite project, and the one that still fills me with pride, is a bookmark I designed from scratch. The inspiration came from one of my quiet evenings spent sketching. I drew a simple image of a rabbit sitting peacefully under a crescent moon, surrounded by stars. The idea felt personal, a reflection of my love for reading and the serene beauty of nighttime.Turning that sketch into a 3D model was both challenging and rewarding. I spent hours tweaking the rabbit’s silhouette to make it soft and inviting, carefully positioning the stars, and ensuring the design was sturdy enough to function as a bookmark. Fusion360 became my playground, and every adjustment brought the design closer to life. Printing it was another adventure. I chose a silky pearl-white filament, hoping to capture the glow of moonlight. The first print had some minor flaws, the stars didn’t come out as sharp as I wanted, but after adjusting my printer settings, the second attempt was perfect. The final piece was everything I imagined: delicate, functional, and magical. Every time I use it, I feel a deep sense of pride. It’s not just a bookmark, it’s a symbol of how much I’ve grown in just a few months. Beyond the bookmark, I’ve printed several practical items that have improved my daily life, a phone stand, a cable organizer, and custom drawer dividers. These small but impactful creations remind me that 3D printing is as much about utility as it is about creativity. My workspace has also evolved alongside my skills. What started as just my printer on a corner of my desk has transformed into a cozy hub of creativity, complete with shelves for filament and tools. Above my desk, I’ve displayed some of my favorite prints, with the rabbit bookmark taking center stage. This little corner of my room feels like a reflection of my journey. Looking ahead to 2025, I’m excited to take on new challenges. I want to design more multi-material printings, experiment with more complex designs, and share my creations with the community. Each project teaches me something new, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me next. Finally, I want to thank the MakerWorld community. The support, inspiration, and shared knowledge here have been invaluable. This journey wouldn’t have been the same without the camaraderie and encouragement I’ve found among fellow makers. Here’s to another year of learning, creating, and growing. I can’t wait to see what we all accomplish together!

The A1 Mini Privacy Shield was born from your feedback! After creating the original shield for the A1, I received tons of requests for an A1 Mini version. Without an A1 Mini to test, I designed this work-in-progress model based on available info and the same lightweight, minimalist approach. Now I need your help: test it, share feedback, and let me know how to improve! Together, we can refine this design for the A1 Mini community. Your input makes all the difference. Thank you! 🛠️
