After printing countless modular ears, we quickly realized that storing them all and lugging them all through the park can be a hassle. Normally, each ear prints an entire frame and needs its own magnets, which don't stack well in carry cases due to the magnet repulsion. Instead of printing a magnetic frame for every design, I designed a magnetic frame that leverages the layer lines of 3D prints to retain custom inserts. Now I only need to carry one set of frames for each headband, and a stack of much thinner inserts with designs on them. The inserts can be placed back to back for fully color 3D designs on front and back, and background tiles can be placed behind or between them to give a wide variety of different looks. They also print much faster. I just uploaded a new set of characters and backgrounds, and the main insert model has dimensions for others to create more. Check them out in my collections.(Edited)

My kids had a hard time keeping the ears on the 5 magnet headbands, and the headbands created pressure points on their head, so I made a new one to solve both these problems. The larger, smoother contact patch on the head is much nicer for extended wear, and the shroud around the ears hold them even with aggressive shaking.

Inspired by the zeromouse and finalmouse, I built an ultralight mouse that uses the bambu wireless mouse kit, and features interchangeable buttons and both claw and fingertip grip pads.(Edited)
