I initially printed the body on A1 using PLA Wood and noticed overhang issues — specifically bulging lines around layer 14+. Switching to PLA Basic gave slightly better results, but the print quality between layers 14–35 was still lacking. In the end, I switched to my P1, and the box printed beautifully without any issues.
I found a few potential fixes, as outlined in the Bambu Wiki
- Increase the speed percentage of the Auxiliary Part Cooling Fan and Part Cooling Fan — this can be adjusted in the filament settings. For the A1, ensure the cooling fan is running at full speed. By default, PLA Wood and Basic have a max fan threshold of 80% and the layer time = 6s. Next time, I’ll likely bump this up to 100% and double-dry the PLA Wood filament beforehand.
- Reduce the nozzle temperature appropriately
Hopefully, this information helps other A1 users achieve a successful print.
Still, it's a beautifully designed box — many thanks for sharing it with the community!
