I've been working in IT since the early days of Hollerith punch cards. I retired in 2008 and started consulting full time, this year celebrating 25 years in business. I no longer take on new clients, which gives me more time to explore my Raspberry Pi machines, IoT, and cell phone ROMS. My talented son recently introduced me to the world of 3D printing, and I purchased a BambuLabs A1-AMS Lite machine.

I was disappointed with the top surface finish on the '50'. Perhaps I should have set the ironing setting? Or maybe it was the filament ... ? But the design caught my eye amongst all the others, so thank you!

Beautiful print, and I especially like the wood grain on the stick. I decided to use the AMS and colour in the lettering on the head - over 10 hours and a goodly number of filament changes!! So, were I to do this again I think I'd just use a paint wash for the lettering. On the other hand, it's what machines do best :-)

Great concept - I didn't assemble it as I made this as a gift for a young lad for Christmas. I think his father will need to help put it together, but I will print the PDF and include it. Printed with no issues.
Printed the spring in PETG, and the rest in PLA. I used red and green, Christmas colours, except the white stripe and black spring.

Very pretty design. I see you have more for me to explore!

Resized to fit ~4mm hole on my small ceramic Christmas tree, and printed in light-translucent purple. Looks great!

I wanted a 'button style', so cut off the loop and made it a bit smaller. Very pretty.

I made it a bit smaller and printed 10 of them on a single plate. Lots of flushed filament as expected. But the tree support broke early on with two of them (I paused and tried to crazy glue them back in place with quasi-results. Photo attached). On one of those two it detached again, leading to a poorly shaped white bob at the end of the cap. (in fact, a poorly shaped bob was an issue for half of the 10. A couple had flipper issues on the same side.) For the most part, once the supports are removed around the feet, they don't stand up on their own. (I know with the ring they are meant to hang, but I expected it to stand freely.) Perhaps the larger model, with larger feet, has a better centre of gravity as well? This gives me much to think about when resizing such models in the future!
I'd like to try printing again using Normal-Snug support rather than tree. I think that might solve the support problem and produce better cap bobs.
But regardless, they ARE cute!

My grandson is into all things to do with tanks and wanted this life-sized shell. Printing was straightforward and just a matter of lots of time and filament! The pegs fit snugly and no glue was needed. Intriguing method for printing the letters and numbers! I must look into how that is done just to satisfy my curiosity. (I'd have used colour-swapping via AMS as it's the only tool in my knowledge-limited toolbox!!) Thanks!
I used a bronze/brass coloured silk filament for the casing as I felt my gold-silk was too 'yellow' and this would be more 'realistic'. Printed on an A1.

This is cute! I made it up for my neighbour's 5 yo daughter. I added a 2mm hole as in the 4-plex profile, and made the runners and trim silk-gold. Thank you!

Perfect print, love the design. I had to 'shape' the paperclip to fit nicely, but I imagine paper clips come in all sorts of sizes! I used a colour-coated one to match :-)
