Bio
Hi there! I’m Janis Fowler, an artist located in Austin, Texas. For the past 15 years I’ve been creating works that have ranged from classic oil portraits to hand-made 3-dimensional sculptural pieces. I have recently been focusing on integrating digital sculpting and 3D printing into my practice, and I am excited to show you my process and the artwork that I create along the way.

I made this little toad in Blender. I printed it with a .02 nozzle and then hand-painted him to resemble a Fowler's Toad.

Who doesn't need a tiny capybara friend to keep them company during a stressful day? This little friend can be printed at any size and makes a wonderful companion. Print one out and hide it in a kitchen cabinet to surprise your family, place him in a flower pot under some foliage, or let him sit by your side as you run errands. He's always there to make you smile and to remind you to take it easy. Capybaras are great!

I sculpted this 9-banded armadillo in Blender and here his is for your enjoyment! After printing, I hand-painted him with Turner Acryl Gouache paint. He is a very tactile model, and has a lot of texture… it is very satisfying to run your fingers over his bumps and ridges.
