Existing systems often rely on recirculating air through activated carbon and a filter, which means ongoing replacement costs. I wanted something I could easily attach to my tumble dryer vent without having to pay for additional subscriptions! After using this for a few days, plastic smells and throat irritation have disappeared. Mission accomplished!
