This was a request from a family friend for their daughter since she was accepted to Geroge-Manson. The request was to have it on the desk or side table not to hang in. I use cob lights powered by USB. I made the lip on the back plate 10mm to fit the lights. Its my experience the light works best when its back as far as possible and its just cleaner in my opinion.
