I found that when in the design phase of a project, I think a lot as I write up a plan. I'll go down logical paths and eliminate them when I discover problems, for example. However, the reasons for my decisions get lost, so when someone inevitably asks "why didn't you do X" I can't recall why.
I built an AI tool to take notes for me as I talk through things out loud while I work and summarize key decisions after. I made this "rubber duck" with a microphone specifically for using this tool.
