I am proud to present the county of Northumberland, stretching far into the north of England and covered in the eight gold bars of its flag. Hadrian's Wall extends through this territory as it skirts the border with Scotland, and the county is also home to the Northumberland National Park which covers around a quarter of the county. This is a remote stretch of northern England, untouched and wild, but its beauty is undeniable.

I am proud to present Washington, DC and the flag colours spread across its landscape. I have been exploring some capital cities recently, to see the land that's hidden beneath these bustling metropolises. Each city has a story about it's formation, and some of that story can be read in the landscape that it sits upon. Beneath the human infrastructure, there's a wealth of natural history that can be discovered. The hills, the waterways and the valleys all tell their own tales.

I am proud to present the nation of Scotland, with the Cross of St Andrew etched into this wild an rugged landscape. Scotland is the third nation I have print that makes up the United Kingdom, but do you know the final one? Scotland boasts an incredible landscape, cleft by the Highland Boundary Fault. This fissure divides the nation between the mountainous northern Highlands and flatter southern Lowlands.

I'm delighted to present England as the next in this series, with the Cross of St George emblazoned across the English landscape. England is one of four nations that make up the United Kingdom, and features a landscape of rolling hills, barren moors and a beautiful coastline that stretches from Scotland down to the English Channel. Home to a wide array of National Parks, including the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the South Downs, England hosts a wealth of natural beauty.

I'm proud to present Curaçao, the small island that's made a big impression recently and proven itself on a global stage. Part of the ABC Islands of the Dutch Caribbean, Curaçao offers a hilly and rugged landscape surrounded by coral reefs to the south west. Klein (Little) Curaçao is a largely flat island that lies to the south east. Despite being in the Caribbean, the climate is dry and arid and as such, the islands vegetation comprises of cacti, thorny bushes and the famous watapana tree.

Presenting Norway, my fourth Nordic Cross printed in this series! This elongated nation spreads far into the north, reaching over 1000 miles from north to south, though it's width can vary wildly. The landscape is defined by the thousands of fjords, deep and narrow sea inlets that are framed by incredible cliffs and towering mountains. Almost a third of this nation lies above the Tree Line, though the terrain speaks for itself!

Presenting Tennessee! The Volunteer State displays some beautiful terrain here, as the Great Smoky Mountains rise to the east and their own red, white and blue is on display. Nestled amongst 8 states, Tennessee boasts a distinct landscape of mountains, fertile valleys, flat-topped mountains and deep gorges, whilst the western boundary is entirely formed by the Mississippi River. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park lies here, straddling the border with North Carolina.

Presenting Uruguay, one of two nations with the Sun of May across its landscape (see my Argentina model). Nestled between Brazil and Argentina, and facing the wilds of the Atlantic Ocean, Uruguay is home to gently rolling hills and an abundance of fertile grasslands. These borders also hold the entirety of the Rio Negro, as it seems to split the nation in two, and the Uruguay River, acting as a natural border with Argentina.

Presenting Algeria, with the red crescent and star stretched across this vast swathe of north Africa. This nation encompasses a drastic transition from the fertile coast of the Mediterranean to the harsh surrounds of the Sahara which makes up approximately 80% of the landmass. Here also lies the Saharan Atlas mountains, a range that stretches from Morocco to Tunisia, marking the northern edge of the Sahara. My uploads will dip slightly over the next two weeks due to work! Apologies!

Presenting Arizona, and the distinctive copper star that represents this diverse state! This is the sixth-largest state in America and holds wide array of geographical features within its borders. Filled with deserts to the south, the incredible Grand Canyon to the north, Arizona also contains a vast ponderosa pine forest and the stunning Uinkaret volcanic field. I'm very satisfied with how the model turned out, especially the sun bursting from behind the copper star. Any feedback welcome!

Presenting County Durham, the next in my series of English counties. County Durham lies amongst Cumbria, North Yorkshire, Northumberland and Tyne and Wear, with the North Sea to the east. The remote and rugged scenery of the county lends itself to some excellent hillwalks, especially if you're looking for somewhere less crowded than the Lake District or the Yorkshire Dales. A sizeable chunk of the North Pennines lies within County Durham and is a protected Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Preseting Myanmar with it's distinct tricolour and white star spread across an incredible landscape. Myanmar stretches from the Himalayas in the north, all the way to the tropical coasts of its most southern point. River gorges and highlands dominate the eastern plateau, particularly the Shan Hills. Myanmar shares it borders with China, Thailand, India, Bangladesh and Laos. A beautiful country with a wealth of nature and natural resources, I'd love to visit one day!

Presenting Portugal, with it's crest and national colours cast across this beautiful slice of the Iberian Peninsula. This coastal nation only borders Spain, but faces out into the wilds of the Atlantic. Mountains dominate the north of the country, whilst plateaus and plains gently cover the central and southern regions. I hope I have done this flag justice, as its details blend to make a truly intricate design. I learnt a lot making this model, both the crests history and Blender as well!

Presenting New Mexico as the next in my states series! A rugged landscape with the Zia sun at it's centre, New Mexico boasts an incredible environment of rivers, mountains and plains within it's borders, not to mention vast Chihuahuan Desert dominating the southern reaches. I've learnt a lot with Blender in doing the flag models, and I'm really pleased with how this has turned out. I hope people are enjoying these models, and if there's something you're keen to see, just let me know!

From the peaks and valleys of the Cordillera de la Coasta and Cordillera de Merida, to the Guinea Highlands with it's tabletop mountains (tepuis) and the worlds highest uninterrupted waterfall, Venezuela covers an enormous swathe of South America and holds a vast variety of flora and fauna between the Caribbean Sea and the Amazon.

I am delighted to present the nation of Madagascar, adorned in the white, red and green of its flag. The second largest island nation in the world, Madagascar boasts an incredibly unique topography of forests, deserts and the stunning Central Highlands. Following its separation from Gondwanaland hundreds of millions of years ago, Madagascar's isolation has resulted in over 90% of its species being unique to the island, presenting a world apart of rare and unique beauty.

I am proud to present the state of Minnesota, the North Star State, emblazoned with the aforementioned star on contrasting shades of blue. This flag was adopted in 2024, and I really appreciate this design. Representing the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" and the night sky, I personally love the shape used to represent this northern state. With a landscape of prairies shaped by glaciers, and dotted with numerous bodies of water, Minnesota offers a beautiful landscape on the border with Canada.

I am proud to present the county of West Sussex, decorated with six Martlets. These are mythical birds that are constantly in flight, used in English heraldry to symbolise continuous effort. West Sussex is currently my home, so I am a little biased with this model! The South Downs rise proudly, overlooking the English Channel and offering beautiful views of the county once climbed. These chalk hills provide a unique habitat for much flora and fauna in and around the south coast.

A return to Asia brings with it the flag of Bangladesh, with the red sun and lush green stretched across this varied landscapes. Famed for its low lying position in the Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh boasts beautiful stretches of beach, dense, marshy jungle and swatches of mangrove forests. To the east, the Chittagong Hills rise as the land meets the border with Myanmar. Frequent cyclones and natural disasters have hampered this nation, but its perseverance is evident year upon year.

Here is Liechtenstein, one of only two doubly landlocked countries in the world, presented with it's flag emblazoned across its dramatic landscape. Holding a population of just over forty thousand, Liechtenstein sits nestled between Switzerland and Austria and has no airports or passenger train station of its own. Travelling here requires either car or bus from either of its neighbours. With its spectacular Alpine landscapes and distinct cultural heritage, this is one for the bucket list!
