In hot weather my lip balm melts and when its laying in a tray it can be a mess. Worst yet the hot weather make it unusable if the lip balm is horizontal and melted wasting money having to buy yet another one. Keeping it vertical fixes all that and being attached to the vent louver keeps it cooler in hot weather in a vehicle.
