Description

My Opal ice maker was constantly stuck in defrost mode. GE said the only fix was to ship them the ice maker under warranty and they would replace the sensor. I did this a couple of times, paying for shipping, and the problem would come back. I found a couple of people who added external fans to blow across the condenser and this solved their problems. 

 

I designed this bracket for an external 120mm fan to magnetize to the side of the ice maker against the condenser. My first iteration was just held in place with magnets but would slide down over time. I made this version to go all the way to the counter top so it holds the fan in place. 

 

There are 5 holes for 8x3mm magnets which I just pressure fit in. Just place them over the top of the hole and use a solid object, like a hammer to press them in. 

 

I built this with simple shapes in Bambu Studio. 

 

The location of the condenser is different on the Opal vs the Opal 2.0 which is why there are 2 models so verify which model you have before printing.
