Foldable modul in combination with standard moduls.

This is a remix of RiverRaids nice Hexagonal foldable Shelf.  This model is fully compatible to Modular Hexagonal shelf.

The print profiles are optimized for Bambu Lab printers in order to fit perfectly when assembled. I extended the print profiles to a multicolored inplace print.  Please notice, that you need an AMS system for multicolored prints. A single color plate is included in each profile.

Watch the small video to find out how easy it is to assemble and mount the shelf. For mounting you need 2 Screws (M3 or M4) with flathead for each frame.

Please notice that there is a printfile for 3mm and 4mm screws!

We used the small Fejka-platic-flowers by Ikea to decorate the shelves.

Thanks to RiverRaid for this ausum model and providing the assembly video.

what support are you using in the photo to achieve a 90° stable shelf? I will definitely print if this can be implanted into the print or as an optional support.

I hope I understood the question correctly. The 90° angle is determined by the shape of the model. The one with the movable platform also remains quite stable when loaded (approx. 1-1.5 kg)

Replying to @suny66 :
I appreciate the quick reply...in the photo it looks like the fold down portion is supported by a 90° bracket of some kind. Is this just an illusion?

@suny66, I think he’s asking about the bracket I’m pointing to in the edited image. I’d also like to know as it give a little extra decorative flare to the shelf.

what is the difference with @RiverRaid 's? RiverRaid's file has two problems, the tabs break and when you fold it, it goes in too deep does your version fix that? your version takes 11h while the other takes 4h, that's why I'm asking, since it's a long print

I made various small changes, especially when printing the model, including reducing the speed to improve the print quality. With the first prints, the small tabs always broke or weren't printed correctly at all. Later, I could close the flap maybe 5-10 times, but then the small tabs broke. My tip: After printing, before you close the flap for the first time, put a drop of Loctite 401 on each tab, then wait at least 1 hour until the Loctite has completely dried. The tabs should now hold better. Close the flap only now! Please do not glue the parts together! ;-) My third print attempt has now lasted about 18 months and is still being folded and unfolded from time to time for demonstration purposes and it's still holding up

I am unable to assemble the individual components

Oh, I believe you tried printing the parts individually. This is an in-place print where everything is printed in "one piece". There's a small gap between the individual parts so they don't stick together and the joint remains movable. If you're using Bambu Studio, simply adopt all the settings and print the model as preset

Yes, I printed them separately to have a two-tone result

due to the design, isn't it easy to knock it upwards? why not use magnets at the bottom part to make it more secure?
