Vector Buggy - Cyberbrick RC car platform The goal of this project was to design an RC car chassis with real suspension travel, allowing it to handle well both on-road and off-road. I wanted to use the springs included in the Cyberbrick Beginner’s Kit to make the design more accessible and affordable. Creating 3D-printable shocks at this scale was challenging, but I developed a solution that is relatively simple to assemble.

I wanted to build a functional scale model of a large vehicle. Something with plenty of features, yet still feasible to construct using @CyberBrick components. After considering different options, I chose to recreate a wheel loader, a machine that’s both iconic and mechanically interesting in my opinion.(Edited)

RC wheel loader, Cyberbrick powered!
RC wheel loader, Cyberbrick powered!
RC wheel loaderI wanted to build a functional scale model of a large vehicle, with plenty of features but still feasible to make using Cyberbrick components. That’s why I decided to recreate a wheel loader.Scale 1:25My design was inspired by the Volvo L350F wheel loader. While it was challenging to capture all the details of the real machine and still keep it fully functional, I did my best to achieve both. Working ‘hydraulic’ CylindersOne of the most challenging parts of this design was the cylinders. I ultimately created a solution using threaded N20 motors (available from Maker’s Supply). By combining an M3 nut with the motor’s rotating shaft, the mechanism pushes a rod up or down. These cylinders make it possible to achieve realistic bucket movement.Other features4 Wheel driveFront and rear differentialRealistic Articulated Steering using a servoReleasing soon on makerworld!I’m still working on the assembly guide and fine tuning some allowances, but once that’s finished I hope to release it next week. If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know, I’m curious to hear what you think.
