Help me wage war on AI generated content farms on Maker World!
If you have been on Maker World for a while you might have run into accounts that only post AI generated models, some of which are even entered into the exclusive model program. While AI generated models are allowed on Maker World, the community guidelines say, "When uploading models or posts that generated by AI, please ensure that you clearly identify and flag the AI generated content." Most of these AI content farms do not clarify that they are using AI in any of their descriptions. Also, the exclusive model guidelines say, "Models should demonstrate a high level of detail and precision in design. AI-generated content, Hueforges, plane/flat/2D models, or models that are clearly not structurally sophisticated will be removed from the program." These AI generated models also normally have poor geometry and don't print very well or are low quality.
What can you do to help?
By reporting these models whenever you come across them, we can weed out bad models and make Maker World a better place. If an AI generated model is in the exclusive model program, you can report it for not meeting the exclusive model guidelines and if a model uses AI generated cover photos, you can report it for being misleading. Some examples of these content farms will be in the pictures below.
To be clear, this is not an attack on all AI models. If you make AI models, please clarify that AI is used and don't use AI generated cover photos. If you use one of the MakerLab tools, make sure to credit the tool used.
