#2024 Annual Summary So it all began when my brothers got a 3D printer back around in 2019. When they got a Ender 3 3D printer which was decent at the time but not any good now which it needs lots of upgrades and a new board! So when I was starting college they had a 3D printer class that I could take towards my graphic design major. So when it was the first day of class I was pretty exicited but it was a few weeks until we actually tried to start printing. But when it came to print our first item on the printer I couldn’t wait! So when I started printing it seemed kinda complicated to work this printer because it was and old kit printer that the quality is actually really bad! But the 2nd image of the Pokemon Grimer was one of my first ever prints and I still got it! Then when it came to start actually designing I was really frustrated because I wanted to take the class for fun not worrying about having to design and all that. But then when we were a few or more weeks in I came up with an idea that would be easy and cool. So I came up with designing a 3D printed Space Invader Alien! I used Fusion 360 which was the software that we use to learn to make our own prints. So after I made it I wanted to printed out but I guess I needed to make more edits because the whole print wasn’t fully touching each part. So I made it touching in corners more and it was a lot better. Then I tried printing it there at my college because I didn’t own my own printer and my brothers wouldn’t let me use theirs so I was kinda upset. When I was printing it out it took ages and the print ended up failing in mid print where the extruder moved out of motion when going against the print and pushed it out the gcodes path. So the printer thought it was still in the same place but it actually wasn’t. So I was really upset now so after being in the class for awhile and these printers you had to level them in order for it to make the print better. So after talking with my older brother he said I could try it since its been like 4-5 years since they last used it. So I tried printing on the Ender 3 but the leveling was terrible and the 3d prints were not solid the bedplate has residue all over and I couldn’t get it to clean. So I decided to buy a new 3D printer so after doing a bunch of research for the best quality printer you could get. I decided to get a Bambu X1C and it was expensive but it was well worth it in the end! So ever since I got the printer was printing every hour i could get to print. I was running it 24/7! 😂 Finally my class ended right before Christmas Break! So far I learned so much over the past months and I kinda know what I’m doing but I have really enjoyed making prints and enjoying my printer and I got to say Bambu has really made a difference way compared to the Ender! So in Christmas Break I posted the design i made originally so far not many downloads but I tried my best. But thank you Bambu for making it easier so we don’t have much problems compared to other companies! Its been a blast working with everyone in the community and I hope everyone had a great 2024 and an even better 2025!
