FerroWave - A speaker that makes music visible.
FerroWave is a Bluetooth speaker with a twist: it doesn’t just play your music, it shows it. A ferrofluid chamber moves with the beat, while RGB lighting adds color and atmosphere. Built to be 3D-printed and easy to assemble using off-the-shelf part, FerroWave is part speaker, part science experiment, part art piece. And since I want to encourage further experimentation - everything will be open source once it is funded, so you will be able to take it to visual extravaganza limited only by your imagination (and a bit of skill, of course ;) )

🔧 Current State
A working prototype already exists. It connects via Bluetooth, drives two powerful speakers, and animates a ferrofluid chamber. RGB lighting is built in, though it’s currently static — you can select colors, but they don’t yet react to music. The campaign will fund the next stage: refining FerroWave into a solder-free, plug-and-play design that’s simple to print, assemble, and enjoy.

🎶 The Vision - Why Back This Project?
Backing FerroWave means supporting more than just me personally as a designer or FerroWave as a product — you’re basically helping to create an open-source creative platform that's made for experimentation. This is only the begining - I can't wait to see where it goes. My inital goals are clear:
- Finalize sound-reactive RGB lighting.
- Refine the assembly design into a solder-free, beginner-friendly build, using easy to source off-the-shelf parts.
- Build a FerroWave webpage/github repository, write assembly instructions and user manual.
- Release STL files, firmware, and documentation so anyone can build, iterate or even sell their own FerroWave.
- Have fun.

⚙️ Open Source & Community
The firmware and design files will be released under the MIT License. This means:
- You can use, modify, and share the code and files freely.
- You can create new patterns, effects, and integrations.
- Proper credit must be given to the FerroWave project.
- Personal use is always free.
That's also the reason why everybody who contribues will be listed on the official FerroWave page and on the official Github repository for posteritiy.
