It all started with an observation at the lake: a colleague watched kids playing with a small, electric paddle-wheel boat. That triggered the idea: this has to work on land too (but completely without electronics, using nothing but the pure power of water). However, the reality of prototyping was a tough battle against physics. The first designs were way too heavy, scaling at over 350 grams 🙈. In a pressureless system, every single gram counts. If the cehicle is too heavy, the momentum of the water jet simply isn't enough to accelerate the mass. We didn't give up. Instead, we put the model on a radical diet. We dove deep into the mechanics of water turbines, optimized the water wheel blade by blade, and ran countless test prints with varying wall thicknesses, nozzle diameters, wheel sizes, clearances and infill settings. The first versions were also unfortunately way too large, so we went through further optimization to ensure the HydroMover fits perfectly on smaller print beds, as many families have an A1 Mini printer at home. The result of this optimization: the final model weighs just under 180 grams. In the photo, you can see the bulky prototype on the left and the final on the right. You can easily imagine how much material and print time this evolution saved. 😅 At the same time, the goal was to create a real STEM kit for kids. This meant: robust components that are easy to grip, and as few individual parts as possible. No fragile clips that snap off, no tools, no glue. Just 11 parts that fit together perfectly. The hard work paid off. The final Version of our HydroMover runs smoothly, saves material, and shows kids firsthand how mechanics and physics actually work. We hope you have as much fun printing and testing it as we had developing it! #ChildrensToys #Contests #toy #Newmodel #Weekly Roundup #Sharing Makes #kindertag #Kids #Toys #HydroMover #Summer #playtime #Stem #Physics #Easyprint #Outdoors(Edited)

Mushroom Knife Keychain This compact Mushroom Knife Keychain is designed for mushroom foraging enthusiasts who want a lightweight and practical tool always within reach. The model is optimized for 3D printing in PLA, but can also be printed in other materials such as PETG for increased durability. The knife features two ergonomic finger holes (for index and middle finger), allowing you to cut mushrooms by pressing the blade against your thumb. The design makes it simple and safe to handle while out in the woods. A small keyring loop lets you attach the knife to your keychain, ensuring you’ll always have it in your pocket when exploring nature. I designed this tool because I often go for walks in the forest and sometimes forget to bring my mushroom knife. With this compact keychain version, I never miss the opportunity to pick delicious mushrooms when I come across them.#Newmodel #mushroom #Outdoors #foraging

A new update from Doors (game on Roblox) was released two days ago, and to celebrate that I made a few more designs from the game. Including two magnet-designs to freak yourself or your kids out when taking something from the fridge. The eyes just keep following you around 😣 That makes a total of 20 models from the game, you can check out the collection here => https://makerworld.com/collections/4898933 Our kids already send me screenshots to design more of the new update 🤣 I heard a lot of "Mom, you should design this!" today ❤️ #Newmodel #Doors #Roblox #Outdoors

#Newmodel #camping #outdoors #kids #portablechair #Sharing Makes Hey everyone,I've uploaded a portable kids chair in a box for the "portable chair" competition. The legs store inside and screw in when you need them and the box has a nice TPU carry strap. Handy for camping, holidays, festivals, that sort of thing. It’s designed for children but does seem to support adult weight. Hasn’t been properly tested though – use at your own risk. Let me know what you think.(Edited)
