Meet my Wall-E Inspired Charging Dock for Insta360! 🤖⚡
Hey everyone! Check out my entry for the design contest—a fully functional desktop charging station inspired by our favorite little scrap-metal robot.
It features precision drop-in charging slots for the Insta360 Luna Ultra and Mic Pro, completely hidden internal cable management, snap-fit magnetic panels (front and back), and magnetically posable arms so you can change up his expressions!
I've posted some photos of the actual 3D print alongside a fun, weathered render to show what a little post-processing paint can do. 🎨
Check out the model page, let me know what you think, and best of all—happy printing! 👇

I wanted to create an iconic figure from the Odyssey and Homer's epics while also making it functional, which is why I chose to make a Trojan Horse Shelf. It was also a project that matched my design skills and gave me the opportunity to challenge myself. I started out with a sketch layout of the trojan horse to decide how I want it to look, then I switched to Onshape to design the model. My original idea was to create a 4 quadrant shelf in the body, but I realized they would be too small to be practical. Instead I kept the 4 quadrant design as a structural detail towards the back of the horse while opening one larger shelf to provide more storage. After finishing designing the model, I imported it into Bambu Studio to optimize the print settings to save time while maintaining good product quality. Once the print finished and I was satisfied, I created a render in Fusion 360 and then took photos of the finished model with some of the small items I use every day.
I'm really happy with how the project turned out, as it captures the iconic trojan horse look while also being a practical shelf for displaying small items!! Good luck to everyone in the contest :)

Odyssey in 3D: My Pythagorean Cup tribute to Scylla and Charybdis
I combined mythology and engineering to create my own version of the Pythagorean Cup. Thanks to the siphon principle, if you overfill the cup, the liquid is expelled through the mouth of Charybdis. Because this mechanism is positioned slightly higher, the cup does not drain completely, but rather empties down to that specific level through the mouth of Charybdis.
A project involving prototyping, print testing, and classic design.
What do you think of this tribute to Scylla and Charybdis?
It is fantastic
I do not like it
Scylla watches,Charybdis waits

👁️ The Agony of Polyphemus: Sculpting the Turning Point of the Odyssey
Inspiration: Capturing the Defeat of Brute Strength
When the MakerWorld "Odyssey" contest was announced, I knew I didn't just want to sculpt a generic monster; I wanted to capture a specific, pivotal narrative moment. The true genius of Homer’s epic isn't just in the battles, but in how cunning (Odysseus) overcomes insurmountable, divine brute strength (Polyphemus).
I chose to design a 32mm heroic scale miniature of Polyphemus in the immediate aftermath of his blinding. I wanted to capture the sheer agony, the blind rage, and the realization that the son of Poseidon had been bested by a mortal claiming to be "Nobody." I believe designs that tell a story directly from the text are the ones that truly capture the spirit of this contest!
The Modeling Process & Overcoming Design Challenges
Creating a compelling Cyclops presented a unique anatomical challenge.
The "Giant" Problem: Initially, when designing a cyclops, the tendency is to make them look like oversized human bodybuilders. But that didn't feel mythic enough. I had to completely rework the geometry to soften the musculature—giving him a heavy-set, barrel-chested build with thick, tree-trunk legs. This shift prioritized sheer, terrifying physical mass over defined muscle striations, making him look like a true giant rather than a scaled-up human.
Narrative Accessories: To ground the model in the lore, I focused on the waist geometry. Instead of generic fantasy gear, I added a heavy, tightly knotted cloth sash holding an overturned amphora. This isn't just decoration; it represents the vessel of Maron's strong, unwatered wine that Odysseus used to drug the giant—the very catalyst of his downfall.
The Final Print
In the final printed result, the deep ambient occlusion and sharp anatomical definition really pop on the printer, especially the hand desperately clutching the ruined eye socket and the crude, uprooted tree trunk he uses as a blind weapon.
I am incredibly proud of how this narrative diorama piece turned out, and I hope it brings a piece of the Bronze Age right to your tabletop!

❤️ A Thank You to Every Designer ❤️
We wanted to share a small update with everyone who participated in our contest.
The Kids' Choice Award is currently taking place at Augsburg Pediatric Oncology.
The voting is still ongoing and, to keep everything fair, even we do not know the current results or which model is leading. The final outcome will remain a surprise until every child has had the opportunity to participate.
Something happened over the past few days that we never expected.
The voting box was originally meant to let the children discover the twenty selected models before choosing their favorite.
Instead, many children started asking the nurses if they could take their favorite model home with them.
The nurses couldn't resist those smiling faces.
Because of that, we have already started printing an entirely new voting box so that every child can continue to vote from the complete collection of models.
Honestly...
We could not have imagined more meaningful feedback.
Your models were not simply downloaded.
They were not just printed.
They were not only voted for.
They brought so much joy that the children wanted to take them home.
That is probably the greatest compliment any designer could receive.
Whether your model becomes the Kids' Choice Award winner or not, please know that every model selected for the hospital has already achieved something wonderful: it has brought joy to children during a very difficult time.
On behalf of all the children, their families, and our entire project:
Thank you. ❤️
Your creativity, your time and your generosity have created something truly special.
We cannot wait to share the final Kids' Choice Award results with all of you once the hospital voting has been completed.
