Description

The StackRack is a interlocking modular rack for storing and transporting filament. It can used with the rack only for open storage or with the cover for dry storage. It has a handle on top for easy handling or to be used as a carry case for transportation. Regular 200mm spools will snap into place. There is now a 3 spools per rack version (which will fit the X1C, P1P, P1S and A1),  or a 4 spools per rack version that can be printed with the H2D and H2S (or other large printer). You can chose to print with or without a hole for a hygrometer.

To snap the lock in place i recommend using something flat and sturdy to help push with. I used a saucepan. Some lubrication could help as well. Remove supports on the base plate before snapping the lock in place.

The base plate should be fastened to the rack with superglue for easier handling and better sealing.

Hmmmm, I must be missing something. I just printed the version with the “dry box” cover, only it’s not sealed or even close to being, it’s just a rattly, loose fitting surround with huge gaps at the top - nothing will stay dry in this. Such a shame as this was the best idea I found so far for printing your own filament storage that’s not for a single spool - shame the “dry” part doesn’t work. Or am I missing something?

The cover is supposed to go further down. Then a smaller ledge will seal against the cover. There is a recess in the lower plate that the covers lower edge needs to go into. Make sure it fits and there is nothing preventing it to go all the way into the recess.

thanks for taking the time to reply. The base doesn’t have a recess on either side, that would explain why it doesn’t go down far enough to be snug at the top. I’m confused - did I print it wrong? bro it’s still the best multi-spool home print design I’ve found, I just wish I could make it air tight (ish)

I think it's there on the first picture but filled with a very thin support. Try to get it out. If it is fused then print the plate again and remove that support (it is not really needed).

Hello I think the idea is great and I really want to use it I printed it and I also have an assembly problem The 3 assembled pieces create a lot of play and do not make the assembly mountable and watertight Either I can put the bottom part with the central part, the lock works but there is significant play with the top part Or, I can assemble the top part with the central part but I can no longer put the bottom on Should the bottom part partially insert into the central part If so, I printed it in PLA, so it's not very flexible Can it be done in PLA

already printed 2 versions one with 4 bays abs the handle and one where I cut off the top side so it fits nicely in a dehydrator.

This is truly a great solution, only the case should be a little smaller, then everything fits perfectly

I have not printed this yet but came across this during a search and I'll tell ya, what a great idea. This will solve my problem of spools lying around. Love it!
