I designed a completely new Push-to-Open mechanism based on a rotating locking wheel with 4 distinct click stages. While this model is mainly a functional demonstration, I think the concept has much more potential. Different spring forces, different actions after each 90° rotation, or activation from all four sides could open up some interesting possibilities.
