Bio
By day, I work as a software engineer, keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. By night, I switch gears and dive into my true creative outlet: 3D printing. There’s something deeply satisfying about turning a digital model into a tangible object, whether it's a quirky gadget, a custom tool, or just something cool to put on my desk. It’s a fun, slightly chaotic blend of tech and tinkering that keeps me curious and hands-on.

I wanted a name plate with a QR code, my own logo, and full control over every detail. Nothing on MakerWorld had it all, so I built one. Pick your fonts, align your name and title however you want, add a scannable QR code with your contact info, and upload your own logo. It generates a matching desk stand or wall mount that fits perfectly. Multi-color printing ready with independent colors for every element. If you have been looking for a name plate that does not compromise, this is it.

One of the biggest limitations in the MakerWorld Parametric Modeler is that there is no font preview. You can select fonts, but you cannot see what they actually look like until you generate the model.
To fix that, I'm introducing the "MakerWorld Parametric Modeler Font Cheat Sheet"
https://github.com/dvester/makerworld-fonts-examples
What it includes:
- 8,267 fonts rendered
- 166 pages of visual examples
- About 96.7% coverage
This lets you quickly browse and choose fonts by appearance instead of guessing and regenerating models over and over.
I originally created this while working on a customizable model where font choice has a big impact on readability:
Customizable QR Code Sign (NFC, Stand, and Frame Optional)

If you are building anything text-based in MakerWorld, this should save a lot of time and help you get better results faster.
Feedback is of course welcome.

Big update to this model.
You can now embed NFC tags mid-print using a pause in Bambu Studio, letting you turn your prints into interactive objects. Tap to open links, share info, connect to WiFi, or trigger automations.
Magnets can also be embedded the same way, making it easy to create snap-fit parts, hidden mounts, and modular designs with no visible hardware.
This opens up a ton of new possibilities and I can’t wait to see what you build.

I printed this top down on a smooth plate, added a modifier cube to allow me to use lightning infill for most of it, and gyroid infill for the top. This essentially allowed me to print it hollow with 3 outer walls. Saved about 100 grams of material. End result was great, and I have another one printing now!

Printed with BIQU Morphlex which goes in at 90A hardness but drops to 70A hardness once printed and also used PLA for the support material. I did a quick print test of the adhesion to the base of the default 0mm top z distance and this bonded the materials FAR TOO STRONGLY. So I adjusted the top z distance to 0.125mm and printed the shoes. They came out great! However the adhesion was still just a bit too strong and I had a small tear on both shoes when removing the supports. I would recommend bumping the top z distance to 0.15mm to prevent excessive adhesion to the support material. My suggestion may be necessary only because of the softer filament I used and it may print just fine with a harder TPU like 95A. Added a little super glue to fix the tear, and I now have a comfortable pair of shoes. I printed the US 10.5 shoe size and the fit is spot on. Overall a great print!
