I like making things that solve small problems, look good, and feel a little different from the usual. Most of my designs come from everyday annoyances, random ideas, and the fun of turning “someone should make this” into something real.

Hi all,
I made a parametric Gridfinity drawer configurator, and I’d love some feedback.
The idea is simple: you enter your drawer size, choose a few options, and it generates a gridfinity setup for that drawer. It can make the grid, split it into printable parts, add spacers for the leftover drawer space, and generate bins. I also added preset bin layouts, because not everyone wants to manually place.
I’m mostly looking for feedback on the model itself.
So things like:
• Does the generated drawer layout make sense?
• Are the preset mixes actually useful?
• Is the menu clear?
• Are there missing drawer types I should add.
• Do the spacers make sense?
• Would you prefer more control, or fewer options that “just work”?
• Does the model page and manual explain the workflow well enough?
I know this kind of generator can easily become too much. That’s what I’m trying to avoid. I want it still simple enough that most people can open it, enter their drawer size, and get something printable without needing a manual.
If you try it, it would help a lot if you share:
• your drawer size
• which preset or settings you used
• what worked
• what felt confusing
• what looked wrong or useless
Thanks!

I’ve been working on my Gridfinity drawer configurator for a while, and from that project came a new standalone model: FeatherGrid.
FeatherGrid is a fully parametric ultra-light Gridfinity base generator. It keeps the Gridfinity functionality, but removes as much unnecessary material as possible.
The result is a grid that is:
very lightweight
fast to print
still strong enough for real use
easy to customize by cell count or area size
optional with spacers.
optional with glue dots, so the grid can be properly glued to almost any surface
