My dad’s old iMac 27” (2009) had become too slow and unusable. After upgrading him to a 2015 model, I tried using the old one as a second display, but Target Display Mode didn’t work. So I decided to convert it into a standalone monitor. To mount all the boards cleanly without glue or tape, I designed a full set of custom 3D-printed brackets.
