Designing a Bottle Rating System for a Home Bar
In a large bourbon or whiskey collection, the classic idea is to place the best bottles on the top shelf.
But once the bar grows, that system stops working. There is never enough top shelf space.
I wanted a way to instantly see which bottles are favorites without constantly rearranging the entire bar.
So I designed a simple bottle rating tag system.
Each tag shows a rating from 1 to 5 stars and slides over the bottle neck with a clean snap fit.
Now the rating is visible directly on the bottle, no matter where it sits on the shelf.
It works equally well for large collections and small home bars.
The tags are designed to print flat on the build plate, which keeps the print fast, reliable, and very efficient in filament use.
If needed, the tag can be gently bent up to about 90° so the stars face forward for easier viewing on the shelf.
Printing is simple:
• supports two color printing with AMS
• also works with manual color swap
• designed for fast and reliable printing
The system includes neck sizes from 27 mm to 40 mm, plus 20 mm minis, so it fits most whiskey and bourbon bottles.
It turned out to be a fun way to organize my home bar and track tasting sessions.
