We developed MULA, a low-cost modular pipetting robot for academic labs. Built from 3D-printed parts and a Hamilton microsyringe (~€700 total), it provides higher precision than air-displacement pipettes and supports closed-vial workflows. Full CAD files, code, and step-by-step instructions are freely available under CC BY-NC 3.0 to encourage adoption and further development.
