I’ve been experimenting with recreating the Royal Game of Ur and I just finished a plastic version of the board and pieces.
The original game is over 4,500 years old, discovered in ancient Mesopotamia.
It’s fascinating to think that when you roll the dice, you’re playing essentially the same game people enjoyed thousands of years ago.
I’d love to hear your thoughts or ideas for improving the design.

I wanted to print a perfect sphere without ugly supports or sagging on the bottom. Instead of fighting overhangs, I split the sphere at the equator. Each hemisphere prints cleanly without supports, then joins to form a smooth full sphere. Making it parametric means you can enter any diameter and generate the exact size you need. A simple geometry problem solved with a smarter design.
