Fully Parametric Speaker Trim Ring & Mounting Spacer

Whether you are fitting aftermarket speakers into factory door cards, building custom fiberglass pods, or setting up a clean flush-mount subwoofer enclosure, off-the-shelf adapter rings almost never fit right.

As a car audio builder, I designed this parametric trim ring generator in OpenSCAD so you can quickly generate the exact speaker spacer or mounting ring you need without opening complex CAD software.

🛠️ Key Parametric Features

  • Custom Inner & Outer Diameters: Set your exact overall diameter, pass-through hole size, and total height/thickness.
  • Recessed Inner Flange / Step: Easily create an internal ledge to let your speaker basket, surround, or grille insert sit perfectly flush.
  • Configurable Outer Flange: Add an optional exterior flange/lip to the top or bottom of the ring for flush-panel mounting or covering rough cutouts.
  • Flexible Mounting Holes (PCD): Dial in the exact number of screw holes (0 to 24), hole diameter, and Pitch Circle Diameter (PCD) to match your speaker frame perfectly.
  • Smooth Top Edge Chamfers: Built-in clean 3D chamfering on top edges for a smooth, high-end finished look.

💡 Car Audio Printing Tips

⚠️ Avoid Standard PLA for Vehicle Builds! Standard PLA will soften and warp inside a hot car during summer. I strongly recommend printing in PETG or ASA/ABS for high heat tolerance and durability.

  • Wall Loops: Set your slicer to 4 to 6 wall loops so that screw holes are anchored in solid plastic, preventing the ring from cracking when you tighten down mounting hardware.
  • Infill: 20%–40% Gyroid or 3D infill works great for maximum stiffness and anti-resonance.
