This model is mainly designed for outdoor plants, such as potted patio plants, raised garden beds, herbs, vegetables, and kitchen gardens. It can also be used for larger indoor plants, but it is especially suited for outdoor growing areas where a natural-looking watering aid fits beautifully into the soil.

The hollow trunk can be filled with water from the top, while the pointed spike at the bottom is inserted directly into the soil. Small outlet holes in the spike allow the water to slowly release into the soil close to the plant roots. The removable top lid completes the tree trunk look and includes small air holes to prevent vacuum pressure as the water drains.

Please note that this model is not intended for long-term automatic watering. It is designed as a simple way to water plants more directly near their roots, helping the water reach deeper into the soil where it is needed most.

Recommended use

Insert the spike into the soil near the plant roots and fill the hollow trunk with water, place the lid on top. Water will release through the bottom holes and help deliver moisture directly into the soil close to the roots.

If the soil is hard or compacted, it can be a good idea to loosen the soil first before inserting the waterer. This makes it easier to place the spike properly and helps reduce stress on the printed part.

For best results, place the spike near the plant, but avoid damaging the main root system when inserting it into the soil. Test the water flow with your own filament, layer height, hole size, and soil type. The drip speed may vary depending on print settings, hole size, soil density, outdoor temperature, and water level.
