Make custom bottles that reuse standard plastic caps.

Overview

This is a parametric tool for creating custom plastic bottles in your preferred size and shape.
By reusing commercially available plastic bottle caps, you can avoid designing a custom cap from scratch, making it easier to achieve a good seal while also keeping costs down.

It is especially useful for making very small bottles or custom-sized bottles tailored to a specific purpose.

There are many different bottle cap standards, but this tool currently supports PCO1881 and 18-105.
Since they can be difficult to tell apart by appearance alone, I recommend printing a small test bottle first if you are not sure which standard your cap uses.

Example Uses

One of my favorite practical uses is a storage case for cyanoacrylate glue.
By sealing the glue together with desiccant, it can help with longer-term storage.

Other possible uses include:

• custom bottles for displaying bottle topper style toys
• sorting and storing screws or small parts
• portable storage cases
• custom containers sized for specific purposes

Depending on the material you use and the contents stored inside, chemical reactions or heat deformation may occur.

How to Use the Tool
 

BODY STYLE

Select the cap type and the bottle body shape.

CAP FIT

You can adjust the cap clearance in 0.01 mm increments.
Fine-tune this value to match your printer, material, and desired fit.

BODY SIZE

Use these parameters to define the size and detailed shape of the bottle body.
Be careful not to make wall thickness too thin, or holes may appear around the corners.

BOTTOM STYLE

Set the shape of the bottle bottom.
If bottom open is set to TRUE, the bottom will be open.

RECT ONLY

These settings are only for rectangular bottles.
Use them to adjust the corner angle.
