Description

Spinosaurus Model - Precision Spliced with Alignment Plugs

This is a reconstruction of the Spinosaurus, specifically engineered to be more print-friendly and reliable than a standard one-piece model.

The Design & Assembly

To ensure a successful print and a sturdy final model, this version has been spliced to eliminate model breakage of smaller parts:

  • Alignment Plugs: This model includes a built-in plug and socket system. These pins ensure that each section aligns perfectly during assembly, providing a much stronger bond and a seamless look once glued.
  • Print-Friendly Orientation: By splicing the model, the most fragile areas—like the small hands and claws—are oriented to print more safely, drastically reducing the risk of breakage during support removal.
  • Original Full STL Included: For users who prefer to print the model as a single piece or wish to scale it themselves, the original, unspliced file is also provided in the download.

Printing Recommendations

  • Supports: Required for the overhangs (chin and lower sail sections).
  • Layer Height: 0.16mm (default) or 0.2mm is recommended to capture the skin texture.
  • Assembly: Use a small amount of hobby-grade cyanoacrylate (super glue) on the plugs and joining surfaces for a permanent, rock-solid fit.
  • Material: Works exceptionally well with PLA, Matte, or Silk filaments.
