Honeycomb wall

The basic part of the wall is printable on the Prusa Mini printer. It is necessary to turn off the skirt or set the distance to 1mm in order for the part to fit it on the pad.

You can connect the basic parts of the wall together. You can connect it also with printable parts which can be used in various ways (you can use it for screwing to the wall, you can use it as a holder for hanger or as a holder for hook).

Choose the correct part size for your printer, or use https://www.printables.com/cs/model/530149-customizable-honeycomb-storage-wall-openscad-v21-b for a custom size.

Diagram to show how to install your honeycomb.
Printing settings
  • layer height: 0.25 - 0.3
  • perimeters: 3 (or more - without infill for faster printing)

Parts for attaching honeycombs to the wall

Some of the parts (which are orange on the picture) you can use for hanging to the wall or for connecting the basic parts together.

Fasteners and parts for attaching hooks and objects

There is added one part with the nut (size M3, M4, M5) inside which can be used for screwing whatever holders you want.

Hooks and holders

This is space for new holders and hooks which will be added as needed.

Hook bottom and side is prepared to insert to the empty insert part.

Other parts

This is cover for the connecting part which is used for hiding the screwer.

And also you can use the second part (as shown in the picture) which can be used for additional attaching the honey comb to the wall.

My printing settings for all inserts
  • layer height: 0.2
  • perimeters: 4
  • infil: 20%

Love this model. Printed multiple panels to make my hobby wall. Complete with Hobby Paint storage, brush and sanding too. Going to print another large section to run behind my 3d printers to hold filaments and other tools.

I am printing for the exact same reason, can you link me to those paint bottle holders, the airbrush cleaner bottle holders, actually link it all please :) I love your setup!

Just something i noticed as a bee keeper... your comb is actually sideways... the straight edge in a real hive is in the sides and not on the top and bottom ;) I almost mounted mine wrong until i realized some of the attachments wouldn't mount correctly unless i mounted them like you show above.

As much as I appreciate learning this, thank you, but now I can't stop seeing it being oriented wrong everywhere. Even if it probably barely structurally matters, but still.

I just created 2 and always on the back left side its lifting. Everything else is top! Printed with New PETG and the recommended profile. Just one "comb" which is lifting. Could be the fan the issue? Its mostly off on that profile...

I've noticed with my PETG prints it needs to be on silent or it messes up during in some way shape or form.

fast AF 0.25mm layer, 2 walls, 10% infill
Whoa! Sounded like my X1C was going to knock itself off the table, but surprisingly printed well. It saved a good amount of time but I went back to the regular profile just because of the noise

Hahaha, I did the same thing and my countertop was shaking. Had to slow it down because I noticed the right side of the honeycomb towards the back of the build plate was starting to look a little wonky.

Except for a single plate (warping on one side) out of 15 every single one turned out perfectly fine. Turned out I was using a wrong print profile (cold plate instead of textured). Printed in PLA using textured plate and 4mm nozzle.
