I love 3D printing because it allows me to turn my own ideas and drawings into reality I taught myself Blender and Fusion 360 with a lot of support from great YouTube creators For about two years now, I've been an enthusiastic Dungeon Master for D&D and I use 3D printing to bring my worlds to life But I might sometimes overdo it a bit, but as long as my players are happy, it's worth it In everyday life, I also enjoy printing my own creations for my wife This includes everything from vases and drawer inserts to Easter and Halloween decorations

The Box of Pedantic Wizardry received an update with a new print-in-place movement chain
Additionally, the chain has been completely redesigned.
The new version is fully print-in-place:
• No glue required
• No thread needed
• No assembly
• Just print and use
The chain comes out of the printer fully functional, flexible and ready for play.
Note:
This is now the recommended version for all new prints

A1 Mini Version Now Available!
The A1 Mini adaptation of the lockable box is now live.
There are two variants to choose from.
A1 Mini without AMS.
A1 Mini with AMS support for the dual color accents.
You will need superglue for assembling
Thank you to everyone who asked for this version and waited patiently during testing. Your feedback continues to shape every improvement. If you print it, I would be happy to hear how it works on your machine.

Update: New Lockable Box Design Now Available
Good news for everyone following the project. The fully redesigned box is now available in all relevant profiles. The new version includes an integrated locking mechanism that secures the lid to the bottom tray. This prevents the lid from slipping off during transport in a backpack or while moving the box around during a game session.
The original box design is still available as a separate profile in case someone prefers or needs the previous version.
For anyone who wants to upgrade from the old box to the new lockable version, there is a dedicated update profile. Please make sure to select the correct variant depending on whether your bottom tray was printed with or without the integrated insert for the Squares and Movement Chains. Both replacement options are included.
Since I ran out of red filament, I had to print the test version in gold, which actually turned out nicer than expected. But I don't recommend printing the colored rim in silk filament as I did. Layer adhesion with silk materials is noticeably weaker than with matte PLA, and I am afraid it could break over time. The title image will be updated as soon as I have red filament back in stock.
Next, I am focusing on a stable and reliable A1 Mini version. My goal is to have it ready in good quality by the end of November. The first tests look promising in terms of stability, but I am not yet satisfied with the visual finish.
Thank you to everyone who supports the project, tests the prints, provides feedback and helps make each update better.

Upcoming Update: New Lid with Integrated Locking Mechanism
A redesigned lid is currently in the final testing phase. This new version includes a built-in locking mechanism that secures the lid to the bottom tray. The goal is simple: prevent the lid from slipping or falling off when the box is carried in a backpack or moved around during travel.
This improvement requires both the lid and the bottom section to be reprinted. All other components remain compatible.
If you have not yet printed your set, it is worth waiting a day or two for the release of this improved version. If you already want to start printing, you can safely begin with the trays, rings, squares, cones and movement chain. Only the lid and bottom tray will change.

Pedantic Wizardry Update as of November 16th
Just a quick update from my side:
The following parts of the planned update are now finished and available:
- Metric version
- True radius version (instead of diameter)
- Update-only profile with only the corrected radius parts (And yes — no glue needed anymore. Zero risk of gluing your fingers to the chain this time. I learned the hard way)
Regarding the A1 Mini version:
Testing didn’t go as smoothly as I hoped. The current lid design isn’t reliable enough yet, and I don’t want to release something that won’t hold up in real use. I’d rather take a little more time and give you a proper, stable solution.
But don’t worry — A1 Mini users won’t be left behind. I’m already working on the redesigned lid.
Thanks so much for all your support and feedback. It really helps shape this project, and I appreciate every bit of it. ❤️

"DM's Box of Pedantic Wizardry" Measuring Set
A few improvements just went live:
Updated and optimized print profiles and redesigned bottom section. The box base is now integrated into the tray for squares and movement chains. I added new movement-chain profiles, including a fully colored AMS version (three-sided)
A1 Mini version is currently in testing — planned release this weekend if everything works smoothly
Thanks for all the support and feedback!

After twenty iterations, this modular Spell Range and Movement Toolkit brings order to D&D and Pathfinder spellcasting. It includes assemble-and-disassemble cones, rings, cubes, and a thread-linked movement chain. All parts fit into dual-color trays for compact storage. The 30-ft cone features a 15-ft marker for short-range spells. Built for precision, tested through chaos, and finally worthy of a DM’s table.

Since Halloween is over and Christmas isn’t quite on the doorstep yet, I’ve added three new inlays with autumn motifs to the modular candle lantern system to cover November. They fit the existing frame and can be used on both sides of the lantern. Further inlay sets are planned and will be added over time – including spring, Easter and other festive or decorative themes. I will provide an extended Christmas set soon…

I designed a modular candle lantern that holds two interchangeable silhouette panels – one on each side. You can mix and match different scenes depending on the season. The first set includes Halloween, Christmas, and Winter inlays. A simple tealight makes them glow beautifully without casting strong shadows. More themes like Autumn and Easter are already planned – I’ll keep adding new ones over time!

Druck funktionierte fantastisch.
