Description

Stack the Cats

Objective:
Stack as many cats as possible without toppling the tower!

Single-Player Rules

Objective:
Challenge yourself to see how many cat silhouettes you can stack before the tower falls.

Setup:

  1. Gather all your cat silhouette pieces. You can use one color or mix different colors.
  2. Find a flat, stable surface to play on.

Gameplay:

  1. Start with one cat silhouette and place it on the surface.
  2. Carefully stack another cat silhouette on top of the first one.
  3. Continue stacking one cat at a time. You can place them horizontally or balance them in creative ways.
  4. The game ends when the tower falls over.
  5. Record your highest stack! Try to beat your own record in future rounds.

Scoring:

  • Count how many cats you managed to stack before they fell. This is your score for that round.
  • You can keep track of your personal best and try to beat it over time.

Multiplayer Rules

Objective:
Compete with other players to see who can stack the most cat silhouettes in a single round or collectively build the tallest tower.

Setup:

  1. Each player chooses a set of cats in a unique color.
  2. Determine the order of play (e.g., youngest player starts, roll dice, etc.).
  3. All players will use the same flat surface for stacking.

Gameplay (Turn-Based):

  1. Players take turns stacking one cat at a time.
  2. On each player’s turn, they must stack one of their cats on the growing tower without knocking it over.
  3. If the tower collapses on your turn, you lose the round.
  4. The last player to successfully place their cat without causing a collapse wins the round.

Scoring:

  • Winner: The player who successfully places the last cat before the tower collapses is the winner.
  • Alternative scoring: Keep track of each player’s successful placements. Whoever placed the most cats before the tower collapsed wins the round.

Additional Rules (for extra challenge):

  • Speed Stacking: Players have only 10 seconds to place their cat on their turn. If they fail to do so in time, they lose their turn.
  • Balance Bonus: Award bonus points for particularly difficult or creative balancing acts (e.g., stacking cats on only one leg).
