Wire hanger extender

A snap‑on sleeve designed for standard 2 mm wire hangers (like those from dry cleaners). It expands the hanger’s shoulder width to 13 mm (about ½ inch), preventing sweaters and other heavier garments from stretching or deforming.

This model also works as a simple form of upcycling — it lets you reuse cheap wire hangers and turn them into functional, garment‑friendly hangers instead of throwing them away.

This extender should fit most of the hanger shapes (it fits both kinds of shapes that I own) and is quite easy to clip on. Personally, I follow these 4 steps to clip the extender onto a hanger:
